Humble Beginnings To Achieving Career Success and Beyond
The jobs we hold shape our lives and ripple into our families.
I’ve always had a strong work ethic, shaped by watching my parents work tirelessly to support us. But it wasn’t until I was older that I truly understood how their jobs and the loss of them shaped our family’s story and my own.
When I was seven, the stock market crashed. My dad lost his job on Wall Street, and with it, his sense of identity. Overnight, our lives changed. He juggled jobs at a gas station and a fast-food restaurant, trading a high-level career in finance for long hours, physical exhaustion, and little time at home. My mom stocked pharmacy shelves, often bringing my brother and me along to save on childcare.
Despite their resilience, the financial strain was heavy. I saw firsthand how job loss doesn’t just affect a paycheck—it changes how a family functions, how people see themselves, and how they show up in the world.

Our early experiences shape how we lead and live.
Determined to forge a different path, I worked multiple jobs while putting myself through school, drawn to understanding people and how work shapes their lives. That curiosity led to a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a two-decade career in corporate HR, helping businesses build better workplaces.
Over the years, I watched too many companies pit people against profit, believing they had to choose one or the other. But when businesses neglect their people, everyone pays the price: culture erodes, communities suffer, and long-term success slips away.
That’s why I created True North People Consulting.
Small business owners are brilliant at what they do, but managing people can get complex as the business grows. I guide leaders to align their people strategy with their business goals, proving you don’t have to choose between a thriving company and a healthy workplace.
When businesses care for their people, families are stronger, communities are healthier, and success becomes sustainable. That’s the vision driving everything I do.

Originally from New Jersey, I now call Andover, MA home, where I live with my husband, a dedicated sports medicine doctor, and our three energetic sons. Our family calendar is filled with youth soccer, Merrimack College games, and cheering on the NE Revs and Red Sox whenever we get the chance. When we’re not chasing games, we’re soaking up time on the coast of Maine or unwinding at our favorite local brewery with friends.
Community is at the heart of everything I do. Outside of work, I stay actively involved by serving on the boards of the PTO, the Andover Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC), and Andover Soccer Association. Supporting local businesses and staying connected to the people around me fuels both my personal and professional purpose.
